Getting Started is Easy

We hope you've seen that Jamestown Estate Planning is the kind of law firm you’d like to be working with. We know you love your family, and your family deserves the kind of protection and guidance we provide.

First call our office at 801-342-9275 to schedule your free Family Estate Design Session and speak with our Office Manager. She will schedule the most convenient appointment time available for you with our estate planning attorney. We see new clients on Tuesdays through Saturdays, with evening appointments available upon request. Please know that evening and Saturday appointments require a $100.00 credit card hold that is only charged if you fail to give 24 hours notice of a cancellation.

Before your appointment, you will receive our Getting Started packet and other important information that you will want to review prior to meeting with us.

If you have existing estate planning documents, please bring them to our meeting so we can go over them with you.

We will reserve about an hour for your personal meeting. During the meeting, we want to accomplish two main purposes:

First, we need to make sure our services are right for you and that you are the right kind of client for us.

Second, we want to make sure you understand what would happen to your family and your assets if you perished with your current plan in place. If you haven't made a formal plan yet, we will show you what the state has planned for you. This will help you identify what, if any, changes need to be made.

If we identify areas we need to change, or if we are drafting a new plan, we will quote you a reasonable flat fee. Our fee will never exceed our quote - there are no unpleasant surprises. At this point, if we all decide to move forward with your planning, you will receive a timeline for the completion of each step of your plan. Usually, we can complete an estate plan in three to four weeks.

When you work with Jamestown Estate Planning, you can be assured that you will always receive:

1. Independent, objective advice;

2. Comprehensive documents that read in plain english so your family will understand them;

3. Straight-forward fees with never any hourly billing;

4. Responsive attorneys and office staff who return your phone calls;

5. An attorney with finance experience who can see your whole estate, not just your documents;

6. Complete ancillary documentation such as health care directives, privacy authorizations, powers of attorney and wills

7. Timely completion of your work;

8. An attorney who asks the right questions to make sure your estate plan is complete;

9. Personal attention by an attorney, not a paralegal.
